Attorney Courtney Goodwin Moss handles adoption cases for Goodwin Moss & Greene P.C. Courtney has handled over one hundred adoptions including domestic, international, step- parent, adult and adoptions of children from foster care. She has been a presenter on adoption law at many adoption conferences throughout the years. She has practiced in this field since 2008. Courtney also practices as a guardian ad litem in superior and juvenile court. She enjoys working with children and representing them in all stages of the judicial process.
Before starting her own firm in 2010, Courtney was an Assistant District Attorney for the Appalachian Circuit. She was a prosecutor for felony, misdemeanor and juvenile cases. Although she enjoyed her job, she felt the calling to open her own practice to pursue other areas of the law.
Courtney was born and raised in Canton, Georgia. She attended Florida State University and graduated with honors and earned her Bachelor of Science. She then attended Southern Illinois University where she earned her Juris Doctorate. She returned to Canton after law school. She adopted children from foster care. She now is married and resides with her husband and children in Canton. She enjoys attending activities for her children, attending Mt. Zion Baptist Church and cheering on the Braves and Florida State.
